In 2026, we live in a world where most people are always complaining. But at the same time there are individuals who have physical limitations, face extreme challenges, and are still being positive. They work hard to overcome those challenges and display exemplary fighting spirit in completely adverse conditions.
For a competitive junior tennis player like me, watching this video further emphasized that the challenges faced by normal athletes and para-athletes are not comparable. As a competitive tennis player, I know how challenging and demanding training, competitions, and performance pressure can be. But these para-athletes often must overcome additional physical, mental, and social obstacles before they even can participate in their sport and compete. This makes their achievements not only impressive but hugely significant when looking at the resilience that they require.
And that is why I see victories like Payal Nag’s Gold Medal at World Para Archery Series Final in Bangkok, April 2026 as more than a sports result. The person who got Silver Medal is also an Indian named Sheetal Devi. I often see sore losers who behave so badly on and off court. Watch this video to see how Sheetal Devi helps her fellow countrywoman and competitor at the medal ceremony. They are both are inspirational.
So next time I find something really challenging in my life, I am simply going to remind myself
“When there is a will, there is a way”.
Take a bow Payal Nag and Sheetal Devi.
