MIT is not too far from Harvard but it is very different. The information session presentation as well as guided tours were very different from Harvard. Needless to say it has a very high emphasis on core science subjects and mathematics. The campus buildings were big and relatively modern architecture. There were signs of tech or design everywhere. Student volunteers were very approachable and I loved hearing how they built a roller coaster in the middle of campus or the famous MIT hack of place a police car on the top of MIT dome.
I also visited the incredible MIT Museum where I saw some cool experiments like Communal Dreaming. I wish I came here in the morning and spent the whole day.
My grandfather Vijay Sane is very happy that I visited MIT as he always talked about MIT’s research, innovation and publications. He is an Engineer and retired as a Dean of an Engineering School in India, so a school like MIT is very close to his heart.
